A + M being prayed over in front of their friends and family at The Shinola Hotel, Detroit.
There’s something beautiful about a wedding that doesn’t try too hard.

For this A + M, they wanted exactly that: simple luxury, timeless details, and a celebration that felt completely like them. Nothing overly elaborate. Nothing designed just for the sake of being impressive. Just a beautiful day surrounded by the people they love most.
And honestly? It was perfect.

Located in the heart of downtown Detroit, the Shinola is an incredible setting for a wedding. With its sophisticated interiors, warm tones, historic character, and thoughtfully designed spaces, it creates an atmosphere that feels luxurious without feeling overdone. Nothing was made for attention. The Shinola already establishes itself as That Girl, making it a great space for couples who don’t want to have to deal with rentals, linens, candles, etc. Everything is already there for you! A + M’s ceremony took place out on the patio, and all of their guests weathered the rain as The Jacobs became husband and wife. Their reception took place in the beautiful Birdy Room, a greenhouse like no other. Intentionally decorated by the venue to expose guests to the live plants and greenery, the Birdy Room at the Shinola Hotel feels like walking into the Butterfly House at the Detroit Zoo - calm, soft, and safe.
The Jacobs were incredibly kind and fun. I was legitimately sad when the wedding was over!
