First things first - yes, both of those pictures are me. LOL
Call me crazy, but I get bored easily, and my hair is the first thing I change. And it somehow alllllways falls right before a big event. My first branding session? Bangs. My friend’s wedding? Blonde (after having black hair for YEARS). Our first Brand Bar event? Chopped off 8+ inches. And my most recent branding session? Back in black, baby.
I am always chasing the high of something new, something fun, something different. I won’t give you some sob story where I say “I never fit in anywhere” or “I had no friends” because that honestly wasn’t the case for me. I had friends - the emo kids, the lgbt kids figuring out who they really were, and the kids at the library after school while we waited for our parents to get off work. “Weird” has never been a derogatory term to me. If anything, “weird” was comforting and familiar to me.
II bring a lot of that mindset into my work. I love the non-traditional. Short ceremonies, long receptions. Completely forgoing your wedding all together to get married in Vegas. Extra, weird, and COOL. I shoot with intention, but I also let the vibe lead the way. To me, structure is important to use as a guideline for sessions - but the real magic happens when you let the session flow on it’s own.
The clients that consistently come back to me are the ones that trust in that mindset. My goal is to take the photos you’re envisioning and make them even better than you can picture in your head. I want you to have photos that are unique but also timeless. Photos that age gracefully and still stand in a league of their own.
