Karla and her mom getting ready.
Karla + Nick found me through a mutual friend! They originally had plans for a grand wedding - but decided to elope at a courthouse and have a semi-intimate reception instead, and it was absolutely perfect.
Starting at a rented Airbnb for the family to get ready in on the water, I met Karla and Nick’s family on the day of their wedding and instantly felt at home. In Latino culture, family is everything. There’s a reason I instantly welcome everyone here! Because that’s just how our culture is. We are a fun, open, loving people, and the Navarro/Martinez clan was no different.

Karla and Nick’s first looks is one of my favorite I’ve ever had the chance to document. They had been together since they were kids and their love for each other grew every day. It was evident on Nick’s face when he turned around and saw Karla in her dress for the first time.

Karla and Nick shared their vows with each other in front of their immediate families and there wasn’t a dry eye on the patio that day. It truly was an incredible moment to be apart of.
Once they exchanged their vows and took family pictures, the family split off to go get the reception space ready and Karla, Nick, and their witnesses headed to the courthouse.

The excitement was palpable.
Once we finished up at the courthouse, we headed to Blake’s Backyard in Almont for their reception! We met all of their extended family and friends and got to celebrate the newly married couple. The drinks were flowing, the food smelled incredible, and the music - a combination of American and Latin - kept everybody dancing for hours.
