Your Questions, Answered

  • Absolutely! I try to keep this site as updated as possible, but, I totally understand wanting to research as much as possible before hiring a photographer. Just shoot me an email and we’ll chat. :)

  • I’m sorry, but no. :( I wish I could say the photos you see here are directly from the cam, but alas, I pay for Adobe for a reason!

  • My goal with every client/couple is to get to know you on a personal level. After our time together, I hope you call me for the next big moments down the road. This isn’t a job to me, it’s a passion! And part of that passion is meeting new people and making a lasting effect on them.

  • Um YEAAAAH! I’ll come shoot photos of your show, I’ll tag along on your bachelorette trip, and I’ll follow you into the mountains if you wanna elope. Detroit + Chicago are beautiful cities, but sometimes you just want to say F it and get married by Elvis. Let’s go, pretty momma!!

  • I do!! I offer 3 month, 6 month, and monthly payment plans for weddings, and all other session type payments are split in half. If you’re interested in a payment plan, please indicate so on your contact form.

  • It allllll depends. The busiest seasons for photographers are summer and fall. Luckily, this is when we have a majority of our longest days, so there is plenty of time in the evening for your session. If you are looking to book a session during the week and during the colder/winter months, please remember sunset is often 5pm. This means that the “golden hour” look that you want is 3pm in the afternoon. Also remember that Michigan and Illinois are notorious for gray snow, so it is important to have some flexibility with winter sessions. If the forecast is predicting a snow storm, the following day or two after it will be perfect for the fresh white snow in photos.

  • Anything you want! My editing style aims to enhance true tone colors, while also providing depth to the shadows and brightening skin tones. Many of my clients prefer to wear earthy tones, as they look richer than others in the final gallery. You are always welcome to pack clothing items to change into at the location; however, please note that many of the outdoor locations do not have public restrooms.

  • If the location allows it, please do!! I always recommend bringing another person with you that is not taking photos and can stand near me to get your doggo’s attention. Toys and treats are good, but your dog will most likely pay more attention to someone they know, than the weird lady behind the lens making kissy noises at them and shaking their favorite stuffie in their face.

  • First things first, I’m so sorry if you feel underrepresented on my page. I am always aiming to provide services to a diverse clientele, but I know that I am only showcasing a small portion of my photo family. Please shoot me a message if you’d like to see a gallery more closely tailored to you - and if I don’t have one, I’d love to jump on a discovery call and set up a session for you.

  • Because Fuck ICE.

  • Just me and my multiple personalities, baby! When you add on a second shooter to your package, I reach out to my close photographer friends for hire. These photographers are people who share the same values as me, have a similar style to mine, and bring their own experience to the table. You can trust that anyone with me and representing my brand is a certified Good Human.

  • I do not, but I can recommend many for you to check out!

  • "Laura is simply the best. She captured our wedding beautifully, but above all she is a safe space and So. Much. Fun. She blended so seamlessly with our day; one of our guests just happened to be walking around with a camera. We'd get married all over again just to hang out with her!"

    — Amanda Kieling

  • "I would pay any price she asked. She's worth it!"

    — Ava Smigielski

  • Kind Words from the Freeman Family

    “10/10 recommend Laura!

This is the photographer that you hire to be your personal hype woman, grows into a lifelong family friend, and captures the best part of you and the people you love.

She is patient, kind, and pure magic with the camera! She makes you feel so comfortable and at ease about being yourself. I was so nervous about taking photos with our baby girl.

Laura made her feel comfortable, giggle, and was so accommodating and patient.

She brought out our true smiles and laughs. She captured us loving one another and those sweet moments. Her photos are hung up on our walls and I love them so much!

Book Laura!! You will be so happy you did it”

  • "Laura is great! Pictures came out better than I would have ever expected and she was able to catch a beautiful side of my rescue dogs. Highly recommend. Very professional, quick turnaround and I now have a priceless memory."
